His current research project investigates the decarbonization of the maritime sector in eastern and southern Africa. This project supports countries in achieving GHG emissions reductions by co-developing concrete and realistic plans for both national and international decarbonization actions. It also emphasizes securing political buy-in for implementing these actions and developing in-country capacity.
