We are thrilled to share this brilliant and poetic interview of our very own John Taukave M.A.
Here John explores the symbolic, material, and human relationships between soundscapes, pacific maritime connectivity, and a just and equitable transition. He draws upon life experiences in his interconnected world – from his traditional Rotuman war dance performances at the IMO, to the communal gatherings when ships arrive at his remote Pacific Island home.
This dialogue also expands on John’s contribution to the Just Energy Transition (JET) case study featured in Equal Routes’ forthcoming report, Charting the Course to a Quiet Ocean: Stakeholder Insights on Reducing Underwater Radiated Noise.
