In creating these Green Port Guidelines, the aim is to encourage port developers and operators to adopt sustainable business approaches and to encourage innovation in design and operation. The Guidelines and accompanying Checklist provide some simple strategies and practices to demonstrate how developments can be both environmentally friendly and commercially viable. They have been designed to incorporate additional marketable outcomes such as potential Green Star accreditation.
