The focus of this dissertation research was to assess the potential environmental impacts of the proposed facility. Research questions included: (1) What are the entrainment impacts from the seawater withdrawal from the warm water intake of the pilot plant? (2) What is the environmental and energy performance over the life cycle of the pilot plant? (3) How can the impacts of entrainment be included in life cycle assessments?
