Coordinated by WHO, three project phases were carried out aimed at developing guidance and practical tools for economic assessments of the health effects from (a) cycling and (b) walking. First published in 2007 and officially launched in 2009, a methodological guidance report (3) and a health economic assessment tool (HEAT) for cycling (4) were presented.
