This report is expected to provide a frame of reference for policy planning within the land transport sector amongst government and private sector stakeholders in Fiji. There is a pressing need for attention to the fundamental system reform required to correct the alarmingly unsustainable trajectory Fiji’s land transport sector is currently trending towards.

In-line with the existing policy framework, the objective of this Draft National Strategy for Electrification of Public Transport for Fiji is to instigate an immediate, urgent establishment of decarbonizing Fiji’s land transport system as a top priority for ensuring the socio-economic and environmental sustainability of the nation in the 2023-2030, and 2030-2050 period.
