One of the most empowering assets owned by the poorest households is their bicycle. In response to tsunami victims in Sri Lanka, the World Bicycle Relief, in partnership with World Vision, distributed 24,376 bicycles in tsunami affected areas in an attempt to rehabilitate peoples’ lives and livelihoods. These preliminary findings represent the results of a quantitative and qualitative study implemented by World Vision and TANGO International on behalf of the World Bicycle Relief.
