The Barbados Declaration of 2012, formally known as the “Barbados Declaration on Achieving Sustainable Energy for All in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)”, was a document adopted at a high-level conference in Barbados. It outlined commitments by Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to advance sustainable energy initiatives, focusing on renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy access, and low-carbon development. The declaration was intended to be taken to the Rio+20 Conference in June 2012.
