UN Secretary-General Suggests Shipping Bailouts be Bound to Paris Agreement
UN Secretary-General Guterres said at last week’s IEA Summit, “Bailout support to sectors such as industry, aviation and shipping should be conditioned on alignment with the goals of the Paris Agreement.”
State aid dished out to maritime companies around the globe in light of the COVID-19 pandemic has not come with any environmental strings attached.
