Maersk Sees GHG Levy as “Concrete Proposal”
Maersk has asked the International Maritime Organization to begin discussing a market-based measure for shipping and sees this new proposal as a step in the right direction
The company did not confirm whether it supports the proposed levy price of $100 per tonne of CO2 equivalent, but did say it expects the difference in the cost between fossil fuels and renewable fuels to be significant
